Matthew Prescott is Senior Food Policy Director for The Humane Society of the United States and Advisor to the Good Food Institute. He’s a leading figure in the global movement to reform the way we farm and eat. He’s a sought-after speaker, published writer and thought leader on the topic, having lectured and spoken at Ivy League universities, Fortune 500 food companies, and more.
For over a decade and a half, Prescott has spearheaded efforts to reform our food system and global diet. His work, which has taken him to more than 20 countries, has helped lead to sweeping changes in the supply chains of over 100 major food companies, impacted countless individuals’ diets, and has been covered extensively by the media: his work has been featured by CNN, in the pages of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the Boston Globe, and countless more; his writing’s been published in the Washington Post, Barron’s and other publications; his photographs have been published in the likes of Rolling Stone and Food & Wine; he’s appeared as a guest on national television news programs; and was even once a guest on NPR’s quiz show, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me.
Prescott lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, the writer Lara Prescott. He enjoys painting and photography, cooking, all manner of outdoor activities, and staying far too caffeinated.
